It's been another busy month here at the Reeve household. We always think things are going to slow down... but I guess we just have to realize that's the way our life is right now. The good thing is... busy days tend to make the month fly by.

The month began with a surprise birthday visit from my parents! Our visits always seem to go by too fast... but we had so much fun. Dan surprised me with tickets the US Figure Skating Championships the last night they were here!!! Our tickets were for the very last row... but we still had a great view and didn't have to worry about anyone sitting behind us spilling beer down our backs.

The picture above is Dan drinking some rum out of his flask. He said he wouldn't be able to make it through the night without some help... but I know he secretly enjoyed the skating. It was so fun being able to see the skaters that will be competing in the Olympics.

Another exciting part of the month was hearing our baby's heartbeat for the 2nd time. We'll have our 1st ultrasound at the end of next month... but we've decided not to find out what we're having. It still seems so unreal to us.

Dan is still super busy with school, but is enjoying his job much more this semester. He comes home with the most hilarious stories... but this one tops my list. He lets students eat lunch in his classroom most days. Last week some students were trying to get Dan to do the "Step Snap" dance which comes from Atlanta (see DL4, Laffy Taffy for an example of the sound and the dance). The great part is... he tried it with varied success. His students were laughing pretty hard... I only wish I could have seen it! Lets just say our household music selection has changed to include much more hip hop.

I hope all is well with everyone! We'll be in Chico at the end of March... so hopefully we'll get to see some of you!

Dan

Dan will probably never forgive me... but I had to post this great picture of him during a Childrens Narnia skit at our church in November. Sorry Dan :)

Happy New Year's

Since we have yet to ever write a Christmas letter (I think next year will be the year!) I thought I would summarize what we might have said in today's posting. It's amazing to think back to a year ago and reflect on all the great experiences and changes we have had...

We spent our first year in our own home and already have some very memorable experiences here (Dan's 30th Birthday Party and awesome visits with family and friends).

Dan stopped his tree business and sold his dump truck (much to my relief!).

Dan started a second Masters program and began teaching 11th and 12th grade English.

We were able to spend a week in Haiti...

and were able to spend time with family in California (our family walk in the Bay area)...

Idaho (part of the Reeve clan)...

and Washington (Dan's Mom Paula and our niece Grace and nephew Caleb at the Pike's Place fish market)...

We took our first trip to the South and had an awesome Labor Day weekend with some of our best friends from Seminary...

The year went by so quickly... it's hard to believe it's already 2006! We also have much to look forward to this year. We will celebrate our 4th year of marriage in a couple days! As I look back I can see how the Lord has continued to grow us through each year. It has been amazing! The end of this month will also mark the end of our 3rd year in St. Louis (wow how time flies!) and our 3rd year with our Church family. I really do mean family. We have been richly blessed by this wonderful group of people. July will mark the most major change of our year. We are expecting our first child on July 8th. We are so excited and can't wait to meet the newest addition to our family.

We hope the start of the new year has been wonderful for all of you as well!!
