Today (after a 5am wake up call from Carter) we headed up to Kilauea Volcano about 2 hours South of where we are staying. We were really hoping to see lava flowing into the ocean... but had to settle with this sight instead...

Pretty amazing.




After the caldera we did a half mile loop through a lava tube (Lexie's favorite part of the trip)...

We split up after that. Erica, Nate and Lexie headed to the other side of the island while the rest of us stopped by a black sand beach on the way home (my personal favorite).










We ended the day with a late lunch at the Southernmost Restaurant in the USA.
