From a boy room to a brother/sister room...

Our unique living situation has presented us with a good deal of space challenges. We have really learned what we can and cannot live without. We just don't have much room for our stuff here. All of our baby items have been in a storage unit (along with most of our other belongings). As I started going through things... I realized a lot was going to need to go back to storage. Like our baby bath tub for example. We just don't have room for it... and I realized we don't really need it. ANYWAY... we really had to think hard about how we were going to transition Claire into Carter's room. I think the room was originally designed to be a small office... but it's worked out great as a bedroom for Carter. Dan finally came up with the idea to build a loft bed for Carter. We originally wanted to put the crib under the bed... but I'm so happy with what we ended up with instead. A huge thanks to Dan's mom and dad!!! Dan and his dad spent last weekend designing and building the bed. We still can't believe how much space it's saved us. This link shows what his room looked like before. And here's what it looks like now...

The room looks GREAT! Such awesome handiwork from Dan & his fam. Love it. J's parents saved his loft bed from way back when and Isaac is LOVING it. We put it up shortly after Elyse was born and it has really made him a "proud" big bro. I hope Carter is enjoying his -- I can't believe how big these boys are getting! Blessings to your beautiful family!

That's awesome! Was it hard at all for Isaac to get used to sleeping so high off the ground? Carter isn't totally loving it yet. We're planning a Seattle trip next summer! I'll be sure to let you know the dates. So fun that we have two little girls to add to our next get together! :)
