As the school year approaches I am so thankful for the time we were able to spend with family and friends out of town this summer. I don't think we realized how much we needed that.

We've been back in town for almost a full month and have spent much of that time getting ready for the guys to move back in. As I was just putting away groceries and finishing cleaning the fridge I was thinking about how much things are going to change again in just 3 days... so I thought I would ask you all to pray. Please pray for our first night back together on Sunday (Fred's 19th birthday), for the two new boys that will probably be moving in in next few weeks and just for the school year in general. Last year we had 6 different boys living with us at different times and a handful of others who toured the house to see if it would be a good fit for them. We are so thankful to have the chance to be a part of this program. Our family has grown in ways that we never would have imagined... and we are so grateful for that.

We are so proud of you both and how the Lord is using your gifts and abilities through Joe's Place. We will be praying for you all as you begin this new year.

Father God, Thank You for Dan and Alyssa and their hearts for Joe's place. Thank You for how You have knit their hearts together with the boys and built really neat relationships with them. Thanks for how Carter loves the boys too and the boys love Carter. Father I pray that transitioning back into having the boys in the house full-time would be good. Please prepare Dan and Alyssa's hearts for this. Prepare the boys and Carter too. I pray that the new boys who are moving in would love being at Joe's place and that they would get along well with everyone there. I pray that You would use Dan and Alyssa in their lives to draw them to Yourself, love on them, and care for them.
Father, please encourage Dan and Alyssa and strengthen them with Your grace. In Jesus name. Amen
